It is an instant messaging app of multiply functions app in China. It’s most similar to WhatsApp or Messager. Published statistics show the WeChat users reach 1.1 billion in 2019. WeChat Official Account is an exclusive account for individuals and businesses to set up and do posting and gather followers, and it is identical to Facebook. Meanwhile, the WeChat official account can connect with their websites, eCommerce sites, and other social media.
There are four different types of WeChat Official Accounts:
• WeChat Subscription Account:
This account can allow posting only one push message each day to their followers and fans. Subscription accounts can be set up either with a Chinese individual or with a local Chinese business license. The subscription account has limited feathers.
• WeChat Service Account:
It shows up at the chat section as the subscription account. The difference is they will appear as a separate chat message. It has more features compared to the subscription account, such as WeChat payment, advertising geo-localization, etc. Though it has a lot of advanced features, they can only post four messages per month.
• Enterprise Account:
The enterprise account is mainly for internal management within a company. They require both the account manager and the follower to approve each-other. None of the unauthorized users can share the articles and contents. On this aspect, it’s only perfect for a company that wants to spread an internal newsletter.
• WeChat Mini-Program
With the mini-program, the audience can use the application without downloading the app. It appears on the top side of WeChat, which is easy to find it if needed. But the functions are limited, and the articles can share with the moments. Also, it can’t connect to other external websites.
The Enterprise Account is mainly for the management of a company, and WeChat mini-programs has limited functions. Most companies will usually choose to register the Subscription account or Service account.
